Phil Davis, Chairman

Phil Davis has been involved in the electricity industry for over 30 years starting as an Electrical apprentice in 1978 and graduating to the level of Senior Management.
Phil’s employment history has ranged from Electrician, Operations Engineer to Project Manager, and in recent years he has specialised in the Health & Safety area of the industry when he was appointed National Health & Safety Manager for Transfield NZ and Group Health Safety and Environment Manager for Vector Ltd, a position he held for 8 years. During this time Phil was involved in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies that were aimed at driving a steep change to reduce injuries.
Phil is a committed professional who is passionate about the safety of individuals and whanau by ensuring credible, practical safety systems are implemented.
Phil was elected onto the Board of Trustees of the Tapuwae Incorporation based in the Hokianga in 1999 and in 2001 he was appointed to the position of Chairman.
In 2009 he was elected onto the Board of the Tamaki Ki Raro Trust, now STRIVE Community Trust and on the retirement of long serving Chairman John Kerr in April of 2011 Phil was elected to Chairman of STRIVE Community Trust.

Phil is now employed with the Trust as a member of the Senior Management Team managing the Ngatapuwae Community Centre and Health & Safety.
